to be honest, I don't think its as strong as some as you other works. The eyes are nicely done, but the rest of the face lacks depth. That said, its still a nice image, I haven't heard the song it was named for so I couldn't possibly comment on mood, but it works well compositionally.

When I think of the song, it reminds me of all the old smokey bars we used to play it in. Classic >;). I think the black and white foggy feel to it is right on for the mood, but the cracks seem to throw it off.

Nice one, I like your painting style.
I does not have so much to say about this, except for the following:
- I think that the contrast is to low in the face, you have the light reflextion on the tip of the nose which is very nice, but the rest of the beautifull face is a bit flat in contrast. I think you could add some highligts on the cheek, the chin and the forhead. Howerver maybe you intentionally have made this low contrast in the face =)
Else its very nice, I like the little distracted looks in her face =)
You have my vote =)

Thanks for your criticism. Perhaps I sould stick to depicting others ;).

The low contrast is on purpose, of course. The cracks ... hell, if I know. A whim, perhaps ;) ... If you care to see the image without the cracks, you can view it here: http://annikavonholdt.com/imagery/layla.jpg

To perfect, not enough to her face, no character.

I really like these last few you've done, with how you worked with them. For some reason, I view them more like memories of someone then an actual portrait..

Did you use a reference picture? It just seems to lack something...
